Chasing Sarasota is much stronger when it tells the story of team dynamics (injuries, chemistry, rivalry, rostering, tournaments). There’s plenty of inherent drama bcs the sports story is already compelling.

The off-field story seemed forced, and mostly irrelevant. One of the main characters, Rio, offers earnest one-liners which were laughed at by the audience. Could they relate, or does it seem silly when talking about an obscure sport that is treated like a hobby?

The best part about this documentary is the game footage. Awesome sports competition is great to see – Ultimate, or otherwise. For a first of its kind film, the film is a very good recap for team athletics, but falls short as a documentary.

While the audience seemed to enjoy the doc, others looked eager for it to end so they could get outside & throw a disc.
