4 Tips for a Greener Game of Frisbee

Tossing the Frisbee around is one of the great idyllic green pastimes - picturing people playing Frisbee almost instinctively conjures up a scene filled with parks, hippies, and picnic tables. But those days are long since passed—now Frisbees are happily and un-ironically tossed on college campuses, Ultimate Frisbee games are arranged, disc golf courses are popping up all over, and it's a perfectly respectable way to pass an afternoon at the beach or at a park.

But just because the hippies' era has passed doesn't mean we can forget about being earth-friendly when we play. So here are some quick tips to green that round of Frisbee:
1 - First, get a green disc—like one of these Frisbees that are made from
recycled retail materials, or these Frisbees made with 60% post consumer recycled plastic.
For disc golf, check out the
Reflyer, a disc specially made recycled material (also post consumer recycled plastic).
2 - Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during your game- not wasteful, disposable bottled water.
3 - Carpool to the park or better yet, bike or walk.

Enjoy the game - it's classic green.
