Special Comment

The fall season has raised play options for Sludge - League or Pickup? Similar to the election fever, you should weigh "change" vs. "more of the same." Which option is which is still up for debate. Add your benefits/drawbacks via Comments.

Leeg
+Brown plays together
+Minimal monetary cost
+Potentially freesup Saturday mornings
+Structured games to 15
+Competitive elements (i.e. defense is played)
+Requires a minimum # of Sludge to play
+Fields are (sometimes) close to a playground
-Playing versus foe-ish teams
-Field conditions unknown
-Fields not near Mi Rancho

PU
+Brown playing together [on the same field]
+Free
+Same time; usually same place
+Access to restrooms
+Play until you don't wanna
+No more Lake Fairfax
+Non-committal (show up when you want/can)
-Parking issues
-Level of play is hit-or-miss/hot-or-not
-No 5:2 rules

biggest benefit of leeg for me is that I always like all the people on my team. In pickup, I sometimes am not so fond of, or even intensely dislike, someone one my team. This greatly decreases my enjoyment.

Related benefit of leeg: We know we have to show up because our team needs subs/players. So we do. the opposite is true in PU, no need to be there. Would we really get to play with sludgies as much if do PU? or will it turn into only 7-8 showing up each week?
