Raleigh has been reported to be the location of a new pro Ultimate team for the 2015 AUDL season. This new team from the capital of North Carolina is expected to join the South Division of the American Ultimate Disc League. Raleigh is the published headquarters for the club team Ring of Fire.
Narwals was a possible team name, as was Flyers - which was also on the short list of team names for the Pittsburgh pro team. For what it's worth...Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where the the Wright Brothers first achieved their dream of flight is over 200 miles away from Raleigh.
Seeing the paper plane in the Flyers' logo reminds me of M.I.A.'s song...
